ARE PARKOUR TEAMS DYING?
The crews gave parkour an identity. Now everyone has a channel. Has anything actually been lost?
For years, a parkour video arrived with a crew name attached. You recognised the people, the city, the jokes and sometimes even the soundtrack before you knew who landed the biggest jump. The group made the film worth watching.
A personal account can show an athlete to the world in a way an old team video never could. But a team could turn a wall into a meeting place and a trip into a shared story. Those are different kinds of value.
Maybe the interesting question is not whether teams still exist. It is whether the next generation has enough reasons to make things together when every platform rewards being the main character.
This is an original concept excerpt for the FTJ prototype. It is not a reported feature.

WHY WE KEEP SCORE
Our goal is to be an independent body for parkour: a place where the community can keep track of the international circuit, follow athletes and see how each season unfolds. We bring events, results and rankings together across organisers, giving the sport a shared record that lasts beyond the weekend.
HOW POINTS WORK
Only 1st, 2nd and 3rd place earn points. Each approved event has a tier, which sets the points awarded for each placing.

Season totals. We add every counted result from the selected calendar year. There is no limit on how many events can contribute. The highest total ranks first; equal totals are listed alphabetically. The homepage shows 2026, and previous years remain available. No points carry over between years.
Separate categories. Men and Women have separate rankings in Speed, Freestyle and Skill. Points stay within their division and discipline. Style and Freestyle are the same category.
Tied results. Tied athletes split the points for the places they occupy. Two athletes tied first share the 1st- and 2nd-place points equally. Places below third contribute zero to the split.
Eligible results. Events need a documented source, an assigned tier and editorial approval before published results count. Local qualifiers are excluded. Open results need a confirmed division; Youth and Masters results stay separate from the adult rankings. Adult Women 17–34 results count under Women.
Team results. For the 2011 Kuwait Art of Motion team event, each member receives the points for their team’s placing.
The homepage shows the top 5 in each category, and the rankings page shows the top 25. Every athlete’s full points and results remain available on their profile.
